I heard a powerful quote the other… month ago? It is probably supposed to be connected with other strings of words that help motivate, but I’ll distill it for you the best I know how:
Amateurs wait for inspiration, professionals show up every day and do the fucking work.
I may have added in the “fucking” just for some impact. I like to be impactful. At least to myself, and since that is what this is all about (me) I chose to make it an impactful statement. If not a bit childish.
Anyhow, I’ve struggled as a “creator” in that I’ve always waited for inspiration to strike before creating things, specifically music, and I’ve somewhat randomly chosen this year, 2022, as the year I will finally take more of an active role in my personal music creation.
In 2022 I plan on making two releases of music… collections. One will be the culmination of the last 10 or so years of my lazy music creations (the ones I waited for inspiration for) and another collection will be music that I have created with intention and purpose. I’m saddened that I’ve waited until I’m on the cusp of turning 50 revolutions-of-the-sun old, but better late than never, at least that is what I’ve been told.
